Groupon

I woke up this morning and stumbled upon this little gem in my email inbox! It’s a two for one Groupon discount voucher for KidsWork Children’s Museum, located in Frankfort, Illinois.  This particular institution was the location of my first museum internship back in the summer of 2009. I worked to design, budget, curate and install a permanent multicultural exhibit entitled Music Around the World. Why they let a 20 year-old have that much power, I will NEVER know! Since opening in June of 2009, they have expanded their programming and exhibit offerings while still maintaining a play-centered mission perfect for children under the age of ten. I’m happy to see that they are pairing up with Groupon to advertise to a greater geographic region. Make sure to nab the deal before it’s gone!

Groupon discounts are a great way for museums to expand their audience base, market to potential new members, and increase institutional visibility within a community.
